Piano
The Ukrainian-born, internationally recognized pianist has won awards at twenty international piano competitions, including the 2002 Alicia de Larrocha Competition in Andorra, the 2004 International Russian Music Piano Competition in San José, the 2005 International Rubinstein Piano Competition in Dresden, the 2008 James Mottram International Piano Competition in Manchester, and the 2013 International Piano Competition "Spanish Composers" in Madrid.
Kateryna began playing piano at the age of five and received her first formal musical education in Kharkiv and at the Central Music School of the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow. Starting in 2001, she continued her studies in Germany, first in Münster with Prof. Michael Keller, and then in Dresden with Prof. Arkadi Zenzipér.
Further milestones in her musical training include an advanced "International Artist Diploma" with Norma Fisher at the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester, UK) and a parallel residency at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale "Incontri col Maestro" (Imola, Italy) with Prof. Boris Petrushansky. Igor Blagodatov, a student of Jacob Milstein (one of the leading pianists in the Russian piano school tradition), has had and continues to have a significant influence on her artistic development.
